President Trump Celebrates The Death Of Robert Mueller

Robert Mueller, the former Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and special counsel who led the high-profile investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, has passed away at the age of 81.

Mueller died in Charlottesville, Virginia, according to reports from his family and the law firm WilmerHale, where he had worked after retiring from public service. His family confirmed the news in a brief statement expressing deep sadness and requesting privacy, without specifying the cause of death. Mueller had publicly disclosed a diagnosis of Parkinson's disease in the summer of 2021, which had affected his mobility and speech in recent years.

However, President Donald Trump's reaction stood in stark contrast. Shortly after, news of Mueller's passing broke on his Truth Social platform.

The post was direct and unfiltered, reflecting the deep-seated animosity Trump had shown toward Mueller for years. During the special counsel investigation (2017–2019), Trump repeatedly labeled the probe a "witch hunt" and a "hoax," frequently attacking Mueller personally on social media and in public statements. The investigation resulted in criminal charges against several Trump associates but did not conclude that the Trump campaign conspired with Russia, though it documented multiple instances of potential obstruction of justice
