Five Americans Detained In Iran Are Freed
As part of a prisoner swap deal between the United States and Iran, five Americans are now freed from Iran detainment. The five Americans are currently on a flight out of the country. It has been reported that the Qatari ambassador is also aboard the flight.
The deal between the United States and Iran includes the US unfreezing $6 billion in Iranian funds.
The 5 Americans are:
- Siamak Namazi, an oil executive and dual citizen of Iran and the United States
- Emad Shargi, a businessman
- Morad Tahbaz, an Iranian-American conservationist
- A fourth American who has not been publicly identified
- A fifth American who has also not been publicly identified
